Unfortunately, it’s become common knowledge that the TFT displays are only clipped into place and held with three small circlips – which can easily be overcome with a simple tug and no tools. As a result, reports of stolen TFT displays are increasing, often with collateral damage to the bike, as thieves tend to act aggressively.
This is doubly annoying: without the TFT display, you can’t continue your journey – a serious inconvenience, especially if you’re travelling abroad. In addition, replacing the display, which functions as a complex central control unit, is extremely expensive.
